Classes

3-5 Tumble –Ages 3-5. Focuses on fundamental skills & will work on basics needed for beginner tumble.

3-5 Combo– Ages 3-5. Focuses mainly on ballet, tap, and creative movements.

6-8 Combo– Ages 6-8. The ballet program teaches dancers strong technique through traditional ballet. The students will learn proper placement, turnout, technique and vocabulary in a disciplined environment.

Beginner tumbling– Ages 6-8. 1st and 2nd year students. This class will teach the basic fundamentals of tumbling. Students in this class will work on basic progressions: forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs. Strength and flexibility will be instructed each class and staff will assist each student with hands-on spotting techniques to ensure proper body alignment and muscle memory.

Intermediate tumbling– Ages 8 & up. 2nd year(with teacher recommendation) & 3rd year students. This class is geared for students who have mastered the basic tumbling skills (beginner class) and are ready to move on. The skills in this class are dive rolls, front walkovers, back walkovers and multiple cartwheels. This class will introduce front and back handsprings, round-off connections, and standing front and back walkover connections. Strength, conditioning, and flexibility will also be taught each class session.

9 & up Ballet– This class teaches advanced stretching and strengthening exercises, barre work is continued with a greater emphasis on vocabulary and terminology. Musicality continues to be emphasized along with balance and coordination through the strengthening of the body’s core. Center work is introduced with continued focus on the positions of the arms, legs and feet using classical ballet vocabulary.

9 & up Tap– Starting basic tap skills, rhythm & musicality

9 & up Jazz– Ages 9 & up. Focuses on building strong technique, strength, and flexibility. The classes incorporate stretching, across the floor combinations, and jazz routines. The dancers will learn different turns, jumps, leaps, and extensions while incorporating them into different styles of jazz.

Hip hop1– 1st & 2nd year students. Ages 6-8. This class will introduce young students’ to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. Hip Hop is about personal style and expression. This high energy class can be taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required

Hip hop 2– 2nd year (by recommendation of teacher) or ages 8 & up. This class will introduce young students’ to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. Hip Hop is about personal style and expression. This high energy class can be taught to anyone with a passion to move!

Hip hop 3– 3+ years. Ages 10 & up or on teacher recommendation. This is a fun and up-beat class that integrates many different styles of hip-hop. Students will learn the trendiest moves that they see in the current pop culture.

Advanced tumbling/Acro– Ages 10 & up or teacher recommendation. Students must be able to perform the skills in beginner and intermediate classes. In this level students will work on back handsprings, round-off connections, standing back handspring series, and back-walkover to back handspring connections.

Advanced Jazz/Hip hop– Teacher recommendation.

Advanced Tap– Teacher recommendation

Advanced-Ballet / Pointe– Teacher recommendation. Teaches a more advanced version of Pre-Ballet. Teacher recommendation. Will not get pointe shoes until ready(Upon teacher approval and discussion with parent.)Dancing on pointe is the act of standing on the tips of the toes while performing steps from ballet

Karate– Through learning the khions (basic techniques), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring), students learn discipline as well as self-discipline, self-control, and respect for one’s self and others.
